This cookie has first been mentioned in 1530 and originated in Southwest Germany. Since cinnamon was an extremely expensive at the time, it was not easily accessible for just anybody. The simplicity of the ingredients, almonds, sugar, cinnamon, egg white also lead to its quality.

INGREDIENTS: GROUND ALMONDS, POWDERED SUGAR, EGG WHITE, CINNAMON
